An Update

Today, I will mostly be brainstorming dates and venues.

There have been a couple of suggestion regarding venues. The consensus so far is to find a 'traditional' pub in the centre of Cardiff. Which considering the yuppification of the city centre is easier said than done.

Hopefully I'll have a meeting which will sort out a decent webpage for the event and will be able to bounce ideas of someone else.

Welsh Bloggers In The Pub 2009

This week has been pretty traumatic for the Welsh blogosphere. Various attack sites have been created. Slurs, smears and insults are being thrown around like confetti. This shouldn't be what blogging is about (although I realise I've been guilty of it in the past on my blog).

I've had an idea. It may fall flat on its face but it may be worth a try. Basically I'm thinking of setting up a social meet up along the lines of the 'Skeptics In The Pub' idea. A 'Welsh Bloggers In The Pub' would meet up a couple of times a year and would serve to improve relations, promote better communication and give bloggers a chance to socialise in the real world. As well as that, taking another idea from 'Skeptics In The Pub' there could be special guests and competitions (jelly and ice cream as well if that floats your boat).

It would also give some of us the chance to get out of the house and have a couple of pints.

This is just at the idea stage. Perhaps I'm over stretching myself and nobody will be interested.
